Milton District Hospital
Milton District Hospital or MDH is a modern community hospital built on 30 acres of land, located in Milton, Ontario, Canada. It offers a wide range of primary care services; its major areas of clinical emphasis include emergency, obstetrics, general medicine, ICU, surgery, rehabilitation, and complex continuing care.
It is operated by Halton Healthcare Services, a nonprofit group of hospitals which also operates Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Georgetown Hospital.
The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and together with the out-patient department provides care to more than 37,000 patients annually. In co-operation with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, MDH has been very successful in attracting both family physicians and a full complement of specialists to Milton.
Last August, we received the exciting announcement of the expansion of the Milton Hospital site of Halton Healthcare Services. The more recent news of a grant of $22.5 million from the Province earlier in April will support the costs for planning and designing the 320,000-square-foot expansion.
There is still a great deal of work ahead of us as we work toward this new redevelopment that more than triples the size of our hospital. We look forward to sharing more news as we work together to grow our hospital to meet the healthcare needs of Milton families in our own community!
